THE STORY

Sant’Elena Sannita, a village inhabited by few souls, a bronze statue which represents a knife grinder of the past: this is where Profumum has its roots and where Celestino Durante’s journey started.

Back to his parents after the Second World War , he started, as many of his coevals, his adventure to Rome with his wife Luisa.

Confident with theirs talent with hands, scissors, knives and any other sharp instrument to cut, these boys from Sant’Elena succeeded to make their talent worth it and became, with the passing of time, the most important perfume makers of Rome, displaying their name in the most beautiful streets of the eternal city.

Nowadays Celestino and Luisa are grandparents and they have left to Giuseppe, Luciano, Maria and Felice the chance of expressing their talent and run their business.

The commerce changes, so does the perfume market, pursue the globalisation and the uniformity, the Durante do not acknowledge these contexts and in 1996 the create “PRO- FVMVM” which born from the passion of conveying emotions, joy and memories linked to the world of smells.
